Brandon's idea on checking the strut collar is a good one; happened to me on my Bilsteins about 5k miles after install.

A pipe wrench works great for tightening the collar; easily fits between the spring coils when the car is lifted up, and you can get that sucker REALLY tight. If I had to guess, I would say Mike's noise sounds like it is something else, but this one is easy/quick to try.

Bill B. gave me the pipe wrench tip about 4 years ago.

Good Luck,
Jon

First two things I would check would be the strut collar - "need" a
special tool from the strut mfgr, or I use a bicycle bottom bracket (old
style) tool. Next I would check again the slotted/ castle nut at the
top of the strut tower (under the 22mm (?) nut. My passenger side one
loosens up every few thousand miles...
