[urq] CIS distributor rebuild

... there were quite a few vehicles equipped with the Bosch CIS system ... as long as the repair parts are still available I'd expect that you could find a local shop ... and get local feedback to make sure they are likely to do a good job. When I did a search I found Pelican Parts popped up, some P-cars use the CIS ... you might poll a few of the Porsche suppliers to see if they rebuild Bosch CIS units. In the area where I live there's New Dimensions ... haven't heard much from them in quite a while though.

I had a FD which got clogged up on my Fox after I put some sort of FI cleaner in that caused the fuel filter to disintegrate. In my case it was the internal pressure regulator that was malfunctioning ... and in that case, even with the repair parts I was unable to restore the FD. Another problematic situation I've seen was on my 5kCSQ where there must have been some wear in the metering rod as fuel would drip around the bore ... I've got to believe something like that would render a FD scrap too.

If you do hear that rebuild kits are still available, please post what you find for P/Ns. Thanks!
