OK folks I have some good news on the hoods I will be driving up from San
Diego to Fiber Images next Friday to pick up the 1st of the hoods without
hood pins!!!!!!
It has been a long time but I think all is on a good track now.
It was thought that Fiber images went out of business a few weeks ago but
that was not the case they had just moved to a new larger location down the
street. Then after the move the main person doing all the hoods fell Ill for
a few weeks, but is back at it now.
I do know they had 3 hoods for sure that were complete without hood pins
about 3 weeks ago and I am sure it is more now! But the last time I talked
to the owner he said they could not ship from the new location yet but I am
sure things have changed.
I will give a update next Friday afternoon with the rest of the details.and
I will be taking my camera.
How many more people are waiting on hoods without or with hood pins??
...
Any updates on this? I could sure use the hood about now as I'm finishing
my
engine install and would like to work in the hood with intercooler mods.
What do I need to do to get the finished hood to my door?
Is this another lost cause and deposit?
Ben

Ben,
My understanding is that Fiber Images has the stock hood from Bernie
Strub now, so they can modify the molds for the latches. The last thing
I heard was that after their long holiday break they would be getting
back to the hoods. I was told that Automekanika got three hoods with
the holes for hood pins, and that Roman might have gotten a couple of
them. Perhaps Roman will chime in...
For the information from the people that should or do know, call Ed at
Automekanika 815.675.1326 or Will at Fiber Images 661.274.9500. Sorry,
I have given all the information that I have. I can't get anyone to
return my calls. These are the only guys that will be able to get the
hoods to your door.
That is all I know. Like all of us, I'm frustrated too and wish I knew
more, but I don't. I am sure that we will get these hoods someday, but
when that day will be I haven't a clue right now.
