did some further testing - swapped in another cc pump - this one from a
much latercar - it does the exact same thing as the one already in -
hunts around a little and steadily slowly falls.  Double checked vacuum
in the system - holds fine.  So I guess I'm down to either the inductive
pickup or the control module, correct?  I did pull the cluster cover off
last night and the inductive pickup was attached - I went ahead and
pulled it off to see if I could tighten the clip connectors.  The metal
was also very clean - - plugged back in.  No test drive yet.
 
My speedo is not 100% steady - but its pretty good - I do recall this
affecting the operation of the CC last road trip - I could feel the CC
trying to match the speedo needle fluctuations - I wonder how much this
is affecting things...
 
Any other ideas?
