Just thought I would give a update on the fitment of the carbon hood.
Well if you have a 10v running CIS you will have to lower the air box about
½ inch so the igloo does not hit the vents that come down under the hood.
I found by modifying a stock plastic lower part of the air box on a Audi
4000 worked just perfect an now have about 5mm clearance between the hood
vents and the igloo.
Now because of the structure being laid out totally different under the
carbon hood you can no longer use the stock rubber bump stops for the hood.
The under structure fits very flush in a lot of spots not allowing you to
use them anymore with only about 2mm of clearance between under the hood and
cross support on front end.
Another thing I wanted to use Flush mount hood pins from Aerocatch but found
out they sit down too deep in the hood to work, so for now I just installed
the Sparco hood pins.
I have a few ideas for a new locking system but will not change over till I
find time to get the hood painted.
Those were the only issues I found and everything looks good I like it a
lot!
