[urq] window regulators

Thanks for the input, I asked the Audi dealership about the regulators. They 
are still obtainable but the price was a nice 500 EUROS per door...

I've had a little success by supporting the sliding plastic bushing with a 
rubber hose (slit along its length) and clamped on with nylon tie wraps.  If 
the cable is frayed though, the whole assembly will need to be replaced or 
rebuilt.  There were aftermarket replacements that worked by screw drive 
instead of cable.  They are slower and you need to drill extra hole in the 
door to mount them.

Hi,

has anyone BTDTs on fixing window regulators? The electric motors in the
ones in my -88 MB are working, but theres a heck of a sound when I try to
use them and the windows do not really want to move. It also sounds as if
the regulator motors has ripped loose inside the doors.
