[urq] A/C compressor testing

Anyone have any BTDTs on testing if an A/C compressor is good or no good OUTSIDE the vehicle? 

My A/C has been apart since the 20V swap - it didn't work before the swap, but I don't know why.  The compressor was very grimy when I took it out at the beginning of the swap, but I'm not sure it's a sign of a leaking compressor because I had a few oil leaks going on the 10V engine. 

I'd really like to test the compressor before I put everything back together (A/C + 2Bennett bracket for alternator below).  Any suggestions or advice are appreciated.
