Funny, I did use a bit of RTV silicone when I replaced my stock igloo with  a 
nicer looking unit from an 87urq. The old o-ring didn't seem to seal quite  
tight enough so I did put a small bead of silicone on it. Perhaps that is what  
killed my OX sensor (not that I've tested the old one yet). Good  call.
