[urq] Seeking help and wisdom with 034 tuning on my UrQ

I've been meaning to do a write-up, but I'm not yet ready to declare
the conversion complete. That has not however, prevented me from
using it to drive the 40 mile round trip to work every day since
October, so I guess that's complete enough.
I found that the base map that Javad provided me gave me a really rich
running car as well, though it was pretty much across the entire range
of load. I tweaked my scalar down quite a ways (I think I got the map
with a 22 on it, I'm right at about 20 now). I'm more than happy to
provide you guys a map, I am also running 42lb injectors, but I've got
a stock turbo. Interesting that you should find yours running rich
too.
I've also noticed that despite the advice of the tuning manual and the
consensus on the 034 boards to keep the individual MAP x RPM cells to
within .1 of the baseline, the low and mid load cells on mine are all
set to around .75, which I only did because I got a map from another
Urq/034 user who had done the same thing.
The car actually runs great, and I haven't ever had it near a dyno
(been in the process of buying a house, kind of becomes a #1 priority)
or even a timing light. It ran reasonably well initially, though my
fuel mileage was quite poor. After modifying the fuel scalar, my O2
readings usually run a tad on the rich side, but my fuel mileage has
gotten reasonably good, and the thing pulls harder than it ever did
with the CIS on it. The original owner (who picked it up off a lot in
1983) has actually gotten a ride in it and felt that it definitely
made more power than it ever had when he owned it. I've got some
little issues to work out yet, like a fluctuating idle when the car is
warming up, but it starts on the first try and runs like a top.
In general, I'm pretty happy with 034. I have a couple of specific
complaints, but I honestly feel are the business equivalent of growing
pains, they were all addressed to my satisfaction, and aren't in any
way related to the quality of the actual product. Considering my lack
of mechanical experience, I'm actually amazed that it all came off as
well as it did.
I will do a write-up and some pictures, it would be a good way for me
to work up a list of what still needs to be done. If anyone has any
specific questions in the mean time, please e-mail me. Eric, I'll
send you a copy of my map next time I have my laptop in the house.
