I thought they were used in some of the early 5000's the ones w/ the more square front end and different headlights......they are hard to find, I looked for a while for one for my friends who were putting together a new rally car......the audi 90 coupe rally car wound up being heavier than the 5000 rally car but was smaller and much easier to setup in the turns (so I was told I never got to drive it)......anyway the search was abandoned after a while since the only blocks found were cracked.......supposedly they were prone to cracking.....so be careful with the heat factor.
If anyone has one laying around it would be smith @ shokan, and it wouldn't be cheap.
Do you mind telling us what this block cost you?

The block is sleeved. Its going to the machine shop this week to get checked
out. I'll have more info about it soon. It weighs 52 lbs as you see it in
the pictures. I have an AAN block in the same configuration, I need to take
the scale to it, I was able to carry the aluminum block with one hand up a
flight of stairs to my office (where the shipping scale is)
