HHMMM, unless they've been changed.  Mine Negative has and the color is 
now red and I forgot to tell one mechanic.  He made the cross connection 
when the car failed to fire after a few months in the shop. I've found the 
MAC to be pretty robust.  I would guess that the battery is now toast. Try 
replacing that first and go from there.

IME the battery straps only reach the correct terminal ... so you may be 
OK
