I had a hot start problem on mine.  It was caused by heat soak to the
starter.  There was already a heat shield on the thing, but I ended up
wrapping the downpipe in thermal wrap, and that eliminated it.
Letting the car cool helped, and so did a jump.  I used to carry a
spare battery-kit and lift up the seat to jump it every time in the
summer...

To me, it seems like these are issues that should be solved on a car
worth 10k plus...hell, for a few grand more you could have (had?)
Martin's grey 3B equipped former car...if you can get it in the US.
