Not sure this is directly applicable, but I was able to use early-style cables (82-83) with updated G36 rears from an '88 5kq. If you can get enough slack in the cable, you can pull it over the hook on the later-style calipers. I've run like this for 6 years with no problem.
My point is, early-style might work fine with your upgrade, too. I'd like to do the same upgrade, so please let us know how it works out!

I'm pretty sure the V8 rear rotors (vented) are the same as the Ur S-
Cars, no?
