Steve Murray asks:
>Hi Eric. Did you ever write up your suspension conversion?
Unfortunately not yet. I have lots of pictures, but not
enough time. Some of the pictures are nifty, like rerouting of
the front brake lines. I don't know when I will have any time
to do a full write-up, sadly. I can answer questions in the
meantime.

Stock Urq front axles but with 200tq outer CV joints. I did have to
grind the CV joint a little bit, but I am pretty sure I could have
found a joint that worked without that hack. I really dislike those
kind of hacks so I will eventually find the "right" solution. On
the rear, I ended up having the urq hubs slightly machined for the
knuckles rather than use A4 avant rear hubs with CQ/90q rear axles,
because I wanted to maintain the beefier components and didn't
want to pay for S2 rear axles or a CQ/90q rear diff (for the
flanges).

Should be a bit better durability, I expect, especially through some
speed, high load track events.

Yes, those cast knuckles are pretty heavy. I think I even
weighed the old vs. new but I don't have those numbers handy.
I am just happy that the new struts are much easier to remove,
and the camber can be adjusted with special bolts for lowered
suspensions where the stock ball-joint alignment won't go far
enough. Also, if I want to swap in/out springs/struts, it is
just he upper strut piece that has to come out.
