Mike

I get about 20 - 22mpg on short journeys. It has been up to 28 on a long run with a light foot. (I think our gallons are smaller than yours too) I have an air fuel meter and it runs at stoich at idle, first red led (7 o'clock)on over run or light throttle and penultimate green led (5 o'clock) for hard accelleration. Remember my WR doesn't have all that O2, ISV nonesense on it) The car has now done about 20000 since I built the engine and is very sweet although I have suffered a return to curious fuelling problem I had a while back- long story and set to get longer it seems. Winter fuel will make a difference.
hope this helps (a little)

All the best

Keith

I suspect you may both be right. Winter grade gas cuts the mileage on all my Audis. Keith what is your mileage? Mine is also a WR but without many of the later bits like O2 and ISV. It is a Mac-01A. About 8,000 on the rebuild, but no overbore and standard C:R . (boy I'd have upped that in a minute If I knew 7 years ago what I know now) Nothing I can think of to drop the mileage like that. It is certaily off on summer grade fuel as well. I have 'closed' the CO screw now almost 1/2 turn in tiny increments and the A/F meter readings virtually unchanged, (showing rich from 3+ PSI all the way through 16) though my idle has gone from 850 to 1,000.
