[urq] UPG 2008 Planning

This past year, I've had the pleasure of driving across the country twice.
I live in NJ, and bought Rich Letsinger's 20v 85' in Seattle and drove it
home, and I also did a cross country vacation with my kids focusing mainly
on the National Parks in the West.

I've attended the UPG events hosted by Gary Brown in CT, and every s-fest.

The reality may be that there is simply not enough interest to draw people
from both coasts together. I hope that's not the case. As for me, the
natural beauty of the West trumps the need for a one-day drive, and for me,
I can't get very excited about Omaha or KC (and I've been to both) , BUT the
original suggestion of Jackson, Wyoming is VERY interesting.

The Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, the Snake River etc....are some the the most
remarkable treasures this country has, and driving in the area is inspiring.
If we were to keep it in Jackon, or a similiar "vacation destination", I'd
plan my summer vacation around the trip, and bring both the 20v 85' ( if the
bodyshop ever finishes the paint) AND my white 85 WR.

For anyone who hasn't seen Jackson and the Tetons, there is a famous
photographer name Henry Holdsworth who focuses his work in the area.
Here's a link to his website....his work shows the incredible beauty of
Wyoming, and combining this kind of natural beauty with a long road trip in
an URQ I feel are essential to the success of a national UPG event.
