One version of a poll on the website would be to pick several places -
and rather than vote - indicate which venues you would go to - may be a
better indication of how many people would go to any one place. You
could indicate that you could go to any of several places - rather than
vote for one.

Subject: Re: [urq] UPG 2008 Planning
Well, I'm planning on a long trip -- my vacation -- for this event
just as I did with the Pikes Peak GTGs in '97 and '98 and Monterrey
Historics in '99. One week max. Besides, in my current condition I
relish the thought of driving at least 1500 miles each way. Last
summer I had to drive on literally a moments notice from Detroit,
Michigan to San Antonio, Texas in a day and a half (1,500 miles).
Four more months or so from now and I can walk/wrench again.
Hopefully I'll have the Urq ready by summer. So max for me would be
2500 miles each way :-) Yeah, I'm certifiably nuts. And, sorry, not
to offend anyone, but the plain states don't interest me in the least.
One thing that really makes an event like this fun is the comraderie
not just of the event, but the fun of the caravan getting there.
However, the fact is we WILL NOT be able to please everyone. So I
suppose we could make two events (one on each end of the country)
with the option to have the die-hards go to both. Another idea would
be to make the event coincide with an American LeMans Race. Just a
thought.
Maybe we should have people suggest different venues, somebody put
together a website poll for the choices and go from there?
