Okay,
So lets summarize #2...

We want to tie it into a vacation destination rather than a track event.
That logistically is easier to plan.

In the KC Omaha area is Branson Missouri. Never been there myself, but 
I've heard its fun.

Also the Black Hills area, and Yellowstone as a place that has come up 
many times.
This is closer to West coasters by far.
Get this.
Boston to Yellowstone is 2400 miles. So I'd suspect only a handfull of 
East Coasters would do that drive. 1 or 2 tops. Does Montana still have 
no speed limits on some roads?

As for the track event. I was thinking if we ran it with a HPDE event 
well in advance we would fill the entry list and pretty much use them as 
the organizing tool.

A split east and west event has been done before. Easy enough, but you'd 
get the same faces year after year.
