Just reading about you drive made me fall in love with my Urq again. For the
past few months I have been going crazy with the rattle from the loose
window regulators inside the doors. You really forget these sort of minor
annoyances when you strap yourself in the seat and have an open but winding
road in front of you... I think I'll go for a sprited drive in the Finnish
countryside next sunday.
Cheers,

Hey Guys-
So last Saturday I had a "Hall Pass" and had intended to do a German Car
GTG in Salida with some other urq guys but the plan eroded.
But I was NOT going to waste my "pass" - kitchen, hall, or otherwise.
Even up til Sat AM couldn't decide if I was going to go down to Salida
or just a nice long drive.
So Dennis and I decided Sat AM to go for a long drive - head south on
285 from Denver and see where we ended up. Well we ended up doing close
to 300 miles. We carved canyons up and down, flew across open flats of
South Park (yes THAT South Park), cruised through winding forested two
lane roads, and had lunch a great little local joint - the Dinky Dairy
in Fairplay (South Park). We had fun playing the passing game
(one-sided) with pick em trucks and such and we just plain had a great
drive! We did not go crazy with the pace by any means - but we had our
moments - and it really was an incredible drive. The V1 saved us for
sure once - that thing has more than paid for itself. The type of drive
that these cars were built for. These cars seem to always have little
niggling issues - so I always spend some time before a big drive trying
to get rid of the most bothersome (to me) ones. But once you get out on
the open road - they really do seem to disappear. No suspension clunks,
no rattles, plenty of airflow for the rad, you are not raising and
lowering windows, etc etc. Summer is fading, cooler temps are on the
way, I _highly_ encourage you to take your car out. Go for a drive -
drive for 2 or 3 hours. Fall in love with this beast we call the
urquattro....again.
