I would think used should be fine - I don't recall ever hearing about one
going bad....

I have opened the pump and it looks nice enough that I'll take the risk and
reinstall it. With new bearings, the oil pressure should be good.
Anyone knows a vendor for this oil pump 034 115 105A (superseded to 105B)?
BTW, a new OEM oil pump is a 432$ affair on this side of the pound... 034EFI
sells one for 300$.

I replace them if the engine has done more than 150K miles. Remove the back
plate - if it's scored then replace the pump. You _can_ replace the pump
with the engine in the car but it's not easy - I'd change it now.
