As far as I know, Mass. has a fixed limit -- ''84 and later get emissions tested every 
other year, '83 and earlier are exempt.  I've heard rumors of that changing, but haven't 
followed it.  I've also seen recent complaints from people getting busted for non-OE 
exhaust systems.

mass is supposed to have some of the toughest emissions standards in the country but I'm 
almost certain that when a car hits 15 years, it no longer has to pass emissions. Safety 
only...

  maybe we'll start seeing more of those nice older Cali cars out here !
