I'm pretty sure that has a longer head/block arrangement L-A. There is an
early and a late 10v motor, and I'm pretty sure 81 was the early
(head/cam/dist are not interchangeable early to late btw). IIRC the distributor gear on
the cam has more splines on the early model (13 late vs 17 early?), along with
the actual dimensions of the head being longer. Is the engine swappable?
Complete, I'm sure it is. I used to have all the notes somewhere on this, but
the easiest test for you might be to bring your distributor and compare the
drive spline count.
I'll try to find the information on this, but I'm sure it's quite buried.

Hi there,
A young man is offering me a WK engine, as well as his 1981 5000 Turbo, a
car they family own since new. The car is 25 km from here, so it could be a
cheap way of putting back my urQ on the road for the next ice lapping
session, February 24th.
I will see the car this week end, so is it worth it as a swappable engine ?
Is the turbo the same ? ETKA is no use because many type 43 parts are NLA in
the ETKA 6 version. I can see that I will have to swap the IM and the CIS,
but the remainder of the engine looks very similar, down to the 2 filter oil
setup.
I do know that the camshaft of this engine is similar to the WR Euro 200 hp
engine, so I'll make sure to grab them as an upgrade for me or Brady or
anyone else.
Thanks in advance,
Louis-Alain
