[urq] Power sunroof in URQ?

Peter,
I think that it is safe to say that there is no such thing as a "factory" power sunroof in an ur quattro. I worked in a stereo/aftermarket accessory installation shop to pay for school in the late '80s, and from what I saw on your car, it sure looks like one of the available roofs from back then. It wasn't at all uncommon for dealers take new cars that weren't normally offered with power sunroofs or moonroofs to get them put in to make a sale, especially on an expensive car like a quattro. Some places even cut roofs from one car and adapted them to others. Why not call John Buffum at Libra Racing and see what he says about it? http://www.libraracing.com/

My worry would be finding parts like seals or guides if there are any problems with it.

Hello........

I just purchased an '84URQ from Dave Jones (Revsport / Soridea) and it has a
factory installed electric sunroof in it. Dave bought the car back in the
early 1990's from Phil Klint who specialized in selling URQ's here in
Colorado. And supposedly the car belonged to John Buffem when it was new.
(verified by Dave) Dave thought it was the only factory power sunroof ever
installed in a URQ. Does anyone have any insight/information into this?
David said the power sunroof was offered as an option but no one
ever ordered it. Regards, Peter.
