Are you saying they put ATF in the main brake system? Pentosin/ATF would go in the brake/steering assist system, the brakes themselves should be using DOT4 (or whatever your preference is) brake fluid. I understand that the Pentosin company makes brake fluid too ... that tends to confuse things even more ...
The fact that the brakes locked up tends to indicate that there's something that shouldn't be in the brake hydraulics. Water can do this. I'd be a bit surprised to hear that either ATF or Pentosin assist circuit fluid would actually cause the brakes to seize ... perhaps the inappropriate fluid expanded the seals. It sounds like your mechanic's going to have to eat a bit of their profits if they screwed things up like that. It might actually mean you'd need to rebuild/replace all the components with seals ... master cylinder, calipers and brake pressure regulator.

They bled the brakes and replaced the fluid with ATF. I just found out by checking the Invoice again then looking in the container. What is the best way to remedy the problem. Should I just remove the Red fluid from the reservoir and fill it with Pentosin and then bleed the brakes?? What could have been harmed by the ATF in the system , that I should check before I drive the car, when I get it started...I'm still reinstalling the MegaSquirt ECU, etc. Does pumping the peddle many times apply here , in some way? They had told me that they bled the brakes and were going to go to the SmogShop for the Test, but that after just a few blocks, the breaks locked up. That is All the info they gave me.
