[urq] Bob Pastore's car

That's a shame you aren't driving the urq 20V. Until about a week ago
when I pulled the radiator I had been driving mine about 80-90% of time
over my lightly modded '01 S4. The somewhat RS2'd urq is _incredibly_
fun to drive. And were it not for a funky fluke leak in my rad I would
say its been pretty darn reliable - although a little rich at
idle...Your '83 is quite the car to look at - but IMO would be much
better to drive...

Subject: [urq] Bob Pastore's car

As you may know, Bob just got married (to MaryAnn, not his car!)

and Rich's car had been repainted but not on the road yet.

He now has three urq's his beautiful white one and Rich's and another

one he has a future project car.

I will see him this next weekend, when he and Al (from Northside)

are looking to buy Marc Nguyen's nice red 85 urq. Al sold his car

to some European who has been buying urq's and sending them

back to Europe. Talk about reverse grey market cars!

I still have the 83 RS2urq, Zermatt with modified AAN engine,

but do not drive it at all. Mostly show car. I purchased in 1987

locally in Reston, VA from original owner, 900567.

I sold my Pearl 91 200 Avant last year to a guy in Colorado, and just

sold the green 96 Canadian S6 full Hoppen suspension, RS2 engine (incl
cams)

and will be prepping my white repainted 95.5 Avant for sale or keep it
as project

car to match the black/black/carbon fiber urRS2S4.

I am moving toward reliability and just bought a civilized 2002 S6
Avant.

Nice car, but not as powerful as the RS2 engined S6/S4.

The urq is the quickest of the breed, probably as quick as my old 1979

Ruf 3.4 Porsche turbo, and the sound of that 5 cylinder pumping over

400 hp is awesome. I think I will go with coilovers on this car, as

the power change requires more adjustment than Koni adjustables

and H&R springs provide. The 2Bennet front 332x32mm rotors and 993tt

calipers front and AAN rear brakes do a respectable job in stopping the
car.

Glad this list is still alive and kicking. I enjoy the tips and tech
help

available here and the opportunity to have met many of you several

years ago. I regret that I do not have some of the technical expertise

of some of you, so am not a big contributor of special tricks.

I also have the original Wx engine, new parts for sale soon that I could
not

use in my 20V conversion. Special Samco hoses, RS2 intercooler,
2Bennett

downpipe, a perfect Zermatt hood; an original WX Steve Eiche chipped
ECU, etc.

Front and rear bumpers and those NLA little plastic inserts for the
front bumper!

Phil
