How much was the seller asking for the car? It looks so nice that I doubt it
will reach his (probably sky-high) reserve.

Have you gone and looked at the car? Actually, I did go and look at the car
yesterday- It is AMAZING- and it has definitely NOT been repainted. The Ring
colors are correct.(Well, not sure what your definition of "correct" is- but
if there is a question whether the car came like that from the Factory- it
did- so if that makes it not "correct" then you're "correct" but assuming
whatever the factory produced was "correct" then this car and combination is
"correct") He showed me photos of the car that the selling dealer used for a
brochure they did of the car on the showroom floor before the car was even
delivered and the Rings were black. He also showed me a photo journal of various
other UR's in RED all with the Black Rings/Stripes- and I would have to agree
with him that it would seem odd that so many folks would have removed the
"correct" silver as you state and go through all the trouble to have black
stripes put on along with the Black Rings- Just doesn't make sense- He even had an
official photograph from AUDI showing black rings/stripes on a red car- so
not sure where your information is coming from but I hope being part of this
forum we would all be more cautious about comments before all research has been
done. As for the front end road rash comment- again speculation on your
part I believe- it appears the car has always worn a two piece front bra which
was also there with the car- if anything you can see a very slight sign of
that on the hood that I think could most likely be polished out without much
trouble. If I had the cash available, I would buy this car in a minute- It is
beautiful- I've seen nicer cars that have undergone incredible restorations
and look incredible with Euro bumpers and lights and other modifications, but
not original like this one- so don't be a hater until you go out and see it
first- come on- it's only fair- you wouldn't want people trashing your car with
false assumptions and "facts" now would you? Email the guy and ask him for
a copy of the photos he showed me of all the red UR's with black to start- and
then go look at the car before making judgements! Cheers! Erik
