Hello,

Just checking in to provide a little info on my car. It is a 1983 ur quattro having the last six VIN numbers of 900163. As you can see, it is a very early car, with a build date of March 1982. It has a rear sway bar, as the early cars did. I understand that export of these cars did not start until 900099.

In any case, it as an ABT modified car with the cam, ecu, and adjustsble boost controller (I have the actual receipt!), along with a gauge package at the shifter base. It has the european front and rear bumpers, along with the sloping grill and H1/H4 Hella lights. It has 42K miles now, and it is a very good running car. The car recently received H&Rs, Bilstein's and Toyo R1R autocross tires. The rear fenders were rolled ever so slightly at GMG Motorsport (the WSC Porsche guys).

Next up will be a oil cooled hybrid ball bearing turbo with the Turbonetics T3/T4 center for very early spool-up, as in right off of idle. A bigger intercooler and radiator will be a must soon. A custom 2-1/2" exhaust will be built by either Hytech Exhaust or GMG Motorsport. Other mods will be a voltage stabilizer and grounding kit in the engine bay; the car needs this badly. Soon to come is a new postive cable, using "0" gauge copper from the + alternator post to the battery, as I'm sure the existing one is nicely oxidized. Later, I'll install HID kits for H1/H4 in the headlamp, and then the fog light positioned in the bumper.

This week, I'll get a new driver's side window regulator, but it will not be a rebuilt Audi part, which is unfortunate, but I'm happy to even get one, as I've been told the early cars have different regulators than say the 1984 "proper fusebox cars."

Interestingly enough, I've net a old ur q mechanic who is semi retired and he claims to have the Lehman ECU program. I have a spare MAC-02 ECU so I was going to let him mod my spare. This sounds very interesting at the least. There can't be that many Lehman programmed ECUs floating around.

I'm sure I've rambled long enough. Please count me in on your registry. Thanks.

Regards,

RW
