Gang,

No Urq content, but since this is the only Audi list I'm on and you
guys are my Audi-net friends, I thought it would be cool.

If you don't know about the "24 Hours of LeMons" race series
traversing the nation right now, you should go check it out. It
is a riot of fun intermingled with the competition of racing.
This past weekend, my buddies and I of "Team Unintended Acceleration"
took our 1990 90q20v to MSR-Houston for the "YEE-HAW It's LeMons Texas"
event. You can see some pics about the car prep and our race exploits
on the team blog, written by Jimmy Pribble (of ur-S4 and ersatz-S2 fame):

Jalopnik.com also has some coverage; search for "Lemons Texas" to see.
We had a pretty quick car, but over 3 hours of penalties cost us
dearly and we ended up in 25th place. Still, we exceeded the judges
expectations and ran all weekend long, to the final checkered flag.
A couple of note-worthy highlights:

Having a rooster welded to the roof on penalty #3 (at least it
wasn't the pig or the humping bunnies!)
Trying to take the checkered flag on Saturday in James Bond
fashion --> backwards (pic on website)
Begging the judges for another penalty rather than pouring
aluminum shavings into the engine, resulting in removal
of a Lexus starter motor in race-pace time
Having to take white paint and sledge-hammers to our lovely
90q as part of the "Obama '08, We Believe in Change"
		penalty on Day 2
Passing the @%$#^! "Crapsman" race pickup truck all weekend long

If any of you have the chance, I encourage you to go resurrect a dead Audi
into a LeMons race car and make the rings proud!!

Later,
Eric
