Years ago at Brainerd, Beddor managed to get 6 sports to an event, separate garage and all.? They gave out rides for members of that event.? I hooked up with a guy that was willing to let me drive it a couple miles after gassing it up.? Quite a machine, at WOT 4000, you understood what the WRC drivers spoke to regarding 'on cam' in a 20vt back in the old days of peaky turbos.? Flash forward to Brainerd 2003, I brought the 5ktq race car to that track, and Hackl proxy'd half his Probst drives-your-car ride to me.? Steve B (er, Beddor) was giving rides in his SQ at the time.? Randy would outdrive the SQ in the turns, but the 5kq 4.11 diff in the race car was no match for the SQ on the straights.? After a couple laps it was obvious Beddor was gunning for Probst and Probst took on the challenge.? Eventually after a couple laps, in turn six, Randy spun out off track and we ended up facing backwards off track with an oncoming Beddor unhappy he was driving Randy's line too closely.? I really felt that this might be my time for the big guy to take me away.? Head on collision with a SQ sitting right seat to Randy Probst driving one of my projects....

Nothing so dramatic happened, but Randy and I laughed our asses off for the next 5 minutes, and Beddor was not pleased....

One of my favorite shots is of Hackl and me with arms around Probst, with Randy sporting one of the biggest s**t eating grins after that lapping session.

Certainly very cool.

But I don't know what it is about the Sport Q
 - except for a in a few angles, namely this - 4th pic down

http://forums.audiworld.com/quattro/msgs/22966.phtml

They just don't look that great on paper. BUT in _person_ wow. I'm still
in awe of how cool Deans white Sport Q was at Urq25.
And of course I can't say that without remembering I got to ride in it for a
session on the track - then drive it a couple hundered feet. Of course
Martin...Martin - you are the real lucky dog.
