That's great stuff!
We are finding out through the grape vine that the event has kick started more than a few "projects" back into action if not completion. This is a totally unplanned side effect/benefit from such an event.
I'm seriously trying to convince the "committee" that we need to start planning Urq26, but so far have not made much progress. I will not however be easily dissuaded. This was a great event with many benefits, and should continue (IMHO)! Other than a lot of work there is no downside, and huge rewards for many.

Subject: [urq] Thanks for the inspiration, and help
Greetings,
I have to give credit to the organizers of this summers gathering of
urq's for the inspiration to finally get my urq roadworthy again. I
have been putting off some of my repair items for a long time.
Over the past few weeks I have changed turbo oil lines, control arm
bushings, brake and fuel lines.
Thanks to Chris Semple at Force 5 for some very important new and
used parts.
Thanks to Frank de Kat for info on generic metric metal brake lines.
All the fittings worked with lines from the local Napa. A tubing
bender came in handy.
Thanks to Scott Mockry for help sorting out what kind of brake flex
hoses to use on an urq with non OE calipers.
Thanks to Audifans, without this community, I would be lost.
Funny (somewhat) surprises,
Finding out that the clips and grommets holding the fuel lines are
all still in perfectly good shape, despite having rusted out fuel lines.
Having a spark plug fouled, so that the car only runs on 4 cylinders
after putting it back together. Imagined all kinds of other causes
since the fuel system had been apart. Luckily, the simple solution of
a plug change.
Dave
