When I was reading about the UrQ25 event I noticed a few of you were talking
about slot cars.
Any specific recommendations on Audi specific cars?
I haven't had slot cars for like forever, and if I remember from when I did,
it seems they were around 1/24 scale.
I've seen some 1/32 scale cars, but not a lot of choices for anything that's
Audi specific?

Jack,
Way back when they were all 1:24. Carrera is the only manufacturer that still makes track large enough to run the 1:24 scale cars on if I recall. There are plenty of home-built tracks out there that are large enough though. As far as cars go, Carrera does build 1:24 as well as 1:32, but 1:32 is vastly more popular these days in terms of the "large" scale slot cars. There are tons of others though including Scalextric, SCX (spanish scalextric), Slot. It, Fly, Ninco, etc. You can buy analog and "digital" cars and track now too, which have the ability to change lanes via R/C switches in the cars and the track. Pretty high tech if you ask me. These companies seem to come and go, and change hands more than mafia money, so forgive me if some have gone by the wayside. I really haven't bought any slots in a few years. Scalextric made some really cool urq AWD 1:32 slot cars back in the day, which are hard to find and seem to bring a decent $ when bought/sold on ebay. They're rubber-band driven between the axles. I believe Fly have come out with a line of urq slots as well, and they look almost too nice to run. There are also some IMSA 90 AWD slots that are nice, made by SCX/Matchbox back in the mid 90s, and they trade often on ebay. More recently, there are a ton of R8/R10 and A4 DTM cars out there. Just gotta keep a lookout. search terms like "audi slot", audi 1:24, audi 1:32, etc on ebay, or google, and block out a few hours.
have fun.
