Depending on what strut..
"new Style" urq rears are the same as 4kq. (just need to change hub, which
means you need to change bearing too)
"Old style" rear struts urq & 4kq 'old style' *may* be the same as each other
too. Don't know..
Front Struts are not the same.
Wheel bearing is a different size (4k is smaller), and tie rod end hole in
steering arm may also be different size. Strut diamaater (so strut insert) is
also different size, and lower ball joint opening in strut is a different
diamater (smaller).
However, from Martin P's 4Kq 5 bolt conversion ideas, maybe you could work
backwards..
I'd think a 5kq strut wouild come closer, with a bit of work.
5kq strut has the right size hub bearing, and the right size strut tube.
Would have the right sized opening for the urq lower ball joint. You would
have to cut off the 5K lower spring perch, and weld on a 4K lower one though,
as springs are completely different...
Not sure what to do about the tie rod ends though, unless the urq and 5K
struts have the same size tapered hole.
Maybe Martin could speak to that part, or to this whole idea, actually!??
