[urq] Ur-quattro on ebay

I went to see the car over at Peak on Saturday. Very nice car and I am
interesting in purchasing but there were some discrepencies that concerned
me:
The left drivers side bolster has the proverbial wear and tear mark in it.
Could this be done in 55k miles? Bergman's car doesn't have this and he has
around 45K I think. I have one with 74K and it doesn't have the wear mark
either. (Let me restate this; it is worn but there are no cuts or tears.)
At first; they (Peak) told me that just the hood and rear deck lid had been
painted but when I questioned the wrong stripes and overspray on the inside
of the gas lid; they called the owner on the spot and he indicated that he
had spent $10,000 on a repaint from the bottom of the glass down. Peak said
they would revise the auction description and they did. If so; they did a
very good job but I think it should have been revealed by someone.
Then I heard from someone else familiar with the car that the right side
sill plate had been damaged and replaced.
They said they had car-faxes to show the milage to be true and they offered
to let me talk to the owner but I decided to wait till the auction was over
(I don't believe it will bring 15k; not because I don't think it may be
worth it; but because of this lousy economy) to talk to him/her.
Does anyone have the inside track on this car?
