... my car had a set of the Pirellis (215/50 P7R as I recall) on it when I
bought it ... I wish I knew the belts were going to break on them so I would
have just swapped them out and saved them for "shows" ... I also got a set
of the 8" wide Ronals with the car ... gave them away for next to nothing
because they rubbed the fenders ... AHHHH, stupid youth!
I too am looking for new gumballs ... the SP8000s are getting down ... and
they are so old I'm sure the rubber isn't performing as it should. I
continue to be amazed by the way this car wears tires ... completely even
all the way across ... wish the other cars (and motorcycles) wore tires so
well!
The owner's manual gave 205/60-15 and 215/50-15 as the tire sizes for the
car ... of course it looks so much better with the latter! I looked around
a while back and didn't see much in that size ...

I always thought the OE size was 215/55R15 -- at least that's what was the
size of the P7s
on my '84 when I bought it.
Good luck finding anything in that size now, though.

P.S. I have one very nice 215/55R15 Pirelli P7 hanging around, stored
inside for years.
Any stock-appearing/show-car types out there that might want it?

I have 4 of these on my car, and it's time to replace them. 205/60R15 stock
size, I want H or V, and the most 80's looking tire. In fact, if there was
still some P7 or A008R, that would be my choice.
What are my choices ? My goal is something in that vein :
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/resources/images/zoom/DMSD83J.jpg but his is a
pure trackday non-DOT tire, wear might be too fast even if I don't ride much
in summer.
