Sean,
It seems that somehow you're trying to hold a group of generous volunteers "liable" for your disappointment.? Having some vague idea of how much effort was put into last year's event, I can only view your comments as selfish and disrespectful.
I am flat grateful for the efforts these folks make, when they can make them.? I already know that I simply don't have the bandwidth to be anything more than a participant, and rarely at that... making me all the more appreciative of the efforts these folks put forth on the behalf of others within this group.
Get over it... be glad there was an Urq25, and be grateful when the next one comes around.
By the way, if you and your buddy can't adjust your vacation plans with 2 1/2 months notice, I can't imagine how you keep a 25 year old car running.
Dave

Scott, I can go back thru emails to the Colorado contingent and post the offers
to help from afar - both years. ?
I was never pulled into the loop so I was happy as attend on a participant
level, simple as that.
I have expressed nothing but praise for the UrQ25 event and the efforts of it's
organizers
When this years event was slated as a 100 year celebration of the Marque I
realized that I probably couldn't be of much help as Im not interested in
celebrating Audi's 100 year birthday. ?The event was being moved to another
level and seemed to be well staffed, with a Director of Marketing and all...
The hopes of seeing a bunch of UrQ's on, near, or around Pikes Peak definitely
had me interested in the event, Audi's involvement or celebration did nothing
for me personally.
What you refer to as 'paragraph 4 below' ?seems to be emphasized to reflect me,
however it reflects everyone that has planned their summer around this event. ?I
have a local UrQ buddy here in Vegas that bagged an annual family vacation to
the UK in lieu of the Pikes Peak gathering. ?That means the wife and 5 y/o son
gave up their one chance a year to see family for the sake of her husbands crazy
obsession with these cars. ?I haven't nearly as much on the table as some, but
nobody appreciates being kept in the dark.
The other negative aspect of this event being pimped on such a grand scale is
that it kept other regional UrQ events from being planned.
