The following message was bounced off the audifans listserver
(apparently due to me attaching an image file to the original
email). Hence, I have removed the image. This was what i wrote
Maurits on Monday morning. Interested to find out what the outcome is:
Maurits,
Not sure how it is with the urq ABS cars, as we never got those. But
obviously, something was disturbed when the shop did this work and so
I would bring it back to the shop to have them fix the problem they
obviously must have caused. ABS sensors usually plug into the hub
housing, which in the case of the Urq is part of the ABS Urq strut
housing -- in which case the shop very well may have had to unplug
the sensors and may not have pressed them in far enough (possibly too
far) when they reassembled. Or maybe they forgot to attach one or
both altogether. The sensors read the teeth on the halfshaft and
compare that rotation to all three other wheels. If one or more
doesn't read a viable signal, the ABS is disabled.
I have attached the relevant page for you to see what I mean<removed
for the list>. Good luck.
