Hmm.

Alternator prob:
loose belt possible.  Also possible you have/had marginal battery (one cell
going bad). But if you say all seems fine now, the loose belt sounds like
likely culprit.

Noise:
Maybe driveshaft center support bearing dry? That tunnel tends to keep lots
of noise contained within the car, so those outside can't likely hear it.
