Hey, Mr. Steve!

Still haven't made it back out there, but I have hopes. Actually finally
got the family to Tahoe for a short vacation at the end of July, ending with
a run to my parents' in L.A. for a one day surprise for my mom for her
birthday on August 1st. Planned to fly in to SJ three days earlier to get
the son to check out some Bay Area colleges; Stanford, Berkeley and Santa
Clara, at the least, before heading up to the lake, but Ann had a medical
issue that delayed us. SO, I will have to make that trip sometime soon.

The a/c compressor on the '83 just blew its' seals at the end of the summer.
I figure you are the guy to check with on upgrade paths. I note that Dave
Frausto has his old one for sale, but I figure a Hitachi upgrade is the way
to go, if it is still doable and the brackets exist somewhere. It's been
years since I thought about it, as this compressor never gave me any
trouble. I think I had to charge it twice in 25 years, if you can believe
that. But it's gone now, blowing the last charge in a day.

So, anyway, how are things going, and what are your recommendations?

By the way, the tires need replacing, too. The 15" Fuchs sit, since there
aren't any tires in 215/50 that I want to put on the car. The current 16"
ATP S5 wheels.no good tires for them either. Thinking putting some light
17" ASA's I have with some 215/40' of some sort on it. A bit much, but
options are few. With that size I can go balls out with the Dunlop
StarSpecs or A/S with the Conti Xtreme's, or even try those new Conti
ExtremeContact DW's.

All the best,

Steve
