gee, I wanna go....  sounds like fun!

I wouldn't bring my car but I have a car show story to tell. Every Thurs evening during the summer Kimballs ice cream stand in Westford holds what I  think is the best car cruise/show in the area. They regularly get 5-600 cars and probably turn away another couple hundred. And not just any cars. EVERYTHING you can imagine, and NICE ! (IMHO) Lots of muscle but everything from vintage Alfas, to Panteras, Lambos, MGs, RRs, and stuff I couldn't even identify.  This past Thurs I took the urq with along with a buddy and his incredible NSX. Welp, they "almost" didn't let me in. There's a guy at the gate that kind of acts like a thumbs up/down judge. First thing he does is gives me a good looking over then asks, what year is this car? I say, 84, and he reluctantly lets me in. I'm thinking sheesh, he has no idea and I immediately hear him start turning several Mustangs and muscle cars away. Ok, well, the gatekeeper may not have known what the urq
 was about but the younger generation SURELY does.  I'm just being directed to where they want to park me and I'm gathering a crowd. No sooner am I out of the car and I'm answering questions. "Hey, this is a REAL quattro isn't it? I've NEVER seen in person before". I'm hearing things like, DOPE car... (thats good right?) Some know more about the car than I do ! They are all kids... wtf? My buddy and I decide to walk around a bit and check out some cars but keep an eye on the urq and it's getting LOTS of attention, mostly younger crowd...
We have a beer or two, shoot the breeze and as the sun is going down figure it's time to leave. The exit from the place is incredible. People line up along the exit way for the sights and sounds. As I'm making my way along, I'm hearing, "hey look, there goes a real quattro. some day I'm gonna own one of those". getting lots of thumbs up. and I notice someone walking along side video taping.  ALL KIDS !!!

Moral of the story. These cars have a new following. I think if I can hold on to it long enough it might actually be worth something... 8-)

Hi guys,
I have been accepted to the "The Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance" with my 1985 UR-Quattro.

This is held on Sunday Sept 13, in Westport CT.  I don't think I can win, but it should be fun.  I think I am one of the few Audi enter but not sure if are UR.  

If any one in the area of CT, NY, NJ, MASS are in the Concours, please let me know.
