Hope all is well, bought these bits from my BMW dealer, hard filter and "regular filter" (yes you can get lots of 20 year parts there) last year.  If anyone needs PNs shoot me a line.

Have you checked the filter at the bottom of the ATF reservoir?? There is a hard cardboard-like, donut shaped filter at the bottom of the metal reservoir.? This tends to break down over time and break up.? My 83' was doing similar things and this filter had failed.? There is a BMW 733? equivalent that works. Check the archives.? If this degridation get s too bad, bits of this filter can get into the system and cause clogs at other points.
