Mike,

When I did mine last january, everything went back together as before,
including the end cover. It was a tight fit but it do fit.

Has anyone whose done a swap recently been able to reinstall the cosmetic 
end cap trim?  For all my efforts, the core seems to be slid in as far as 
possible, but it still protrudes about 10mm too much to snap the end cover 
back on.
