Agreed, it seems redundant, although, a McPherson also relies on a control arm or somesuch
to perform the "wheel locating" function.
Is this a new type that doesn't require that lower link?
Haven't seen it...

Subject: [urq] NAC : A new type of front suspension ?

Hi guys,

It's not an Audi, but it's a cousin. Someone from the VW ad agency is asking
me a translation toward French for "Wheel locating McPherson strut".

Since all McPherson struts are in fact locating devices for the wheel, I
wonder if it's not a direct translation from German ?

The other choice is that this VW, the 2011 Tiguan, introduces a new type of
McPherson, and that I am not aware of it.

Any ideas, you german-speaking people and the other who knows the VAG
products better than me ?

Louis-Alain
