 E code suffix 'number' really doesn't mean anything other than the country where the light was approved, since any ecode light is legal in any e-code light country that signed the 1958 ece-code agreement.  For all the breakdown of the numbering, try Daniel Stern, the king of lighting, he explains it well....

If I recall correctly, the different E codes refer to different countries

and their specifications in The European Union, though I don't believe these

are much different.  E1 is Germany, E2 is France, etc.
