[urq] Gurgling noise in cabin...

If you have removed the A/C Evaporator you should be able to slide the
heater core out of the console without having to disassemble much.

You might want to remove the uppermost hose in the engine compartment and
try to work any air bubbles out.

I have never had much problem with heater function, but your description of
the low output and gurgling sounds make me think that you do have some sort
of air pocket in the heater core.

I have had a similar experience with my heater core replacement, but
without the gurgling noises. The lack of heat in my car, I always
attributed to my poor job of weatherstripping around the core. As small
as that core is, it wouldn't take much arctic air leaking around it to
minimize the heat. I don't drive my urq much in the dead of winter
anymore, so I haven't been motivated to try re-sealing the core.
Good luck finding the gurgle,
Dave

Hi Dave,

You have a Mars red 1983 like mine ? Must be a color thing then :-)

I tried to seal the best I could with the little weather-stripping I got
with the core. To my eye, it was tightly sealed, but you may be right. I
won't re-open it soon, since it's a real PITA to get down there. What
puzzles me is the fact that when "racing", there is much heat coming in the
cabin. But then, speeds are not high (60 mph at the most), and plenty of gas
goes into that engine when I floor it. It's when cruising while the engine
temps are around 85 celsius that the problem occurs.

Thanks for the post.
