... funny, I was thinking it was the boost line to the ECU ... since you
have eliminated this the next thing that comes to mind is the vacuum lines
for the diff lock and recirc door. There's a check valve that can fail,
which might cause you to hear pressure venting. If this were the case
likely you would notice odd behavior in the diff locks.
If that is not the case, you may want to look on the other side of the
firewall, perhaps there's a leak in the line going to wastegate. There's a
carbon canister in this area too, that would be another place to look for an
open line ...

While I prepare the car for the ice lapping event of the week-end, (heater
core, rear brakes), I noticed a hissing sound form the passenger footwell
area. Since the glovebox is removed, it is very noticeable but I can't say
for sure if it was there before.
It grows accordingly with the boost pressure, and I can even hear the
characteristic off-throttle "flutter" (a very fast "foo-foo-foo") when I
stop accelerating.
