[urq] AUDI Traditional parts store...Ur Q and Older cars

Must be an Audi thing, since I had 2 1986 'murican cars with the CHMSL
firmly in place. And I have such a CHMSL light from a 1986 Coupe GT that I
dismantled 2 years ago, and yes it was a Canadian car (km/h speedo and no
sunroof).

I kept it to be used as a "snow track" permanent warning light for when the
lower back of the car is covered in snow dust. Ice racers here in Quebec use
such a light, top mounted and always lit during the races. The CHMSL Coupe
GT light is in fact installed at the top of the backlight. Never took the
time to install it yet... But now that it's an official topic, I may give it
a try soon.

My 1986 type 44 Turbo Quattro does not have the centre back light stop
light, the 1987 has the stop light in the centre of the back light.

Well, I've seen one of the '86 cars recently... ;^) It never had a third
brake light. I know the USA required the light starting in '86, but Canada
must've been later. I was just surprised that the feds didn't make me add
the light during importation.
