I was a bit puzzled having 3 different panels , all with a hole in roughly thesame
size and location . But none of them exactly thesame . Not a clue what it was for .
Then I saw this picture and thought it must have been that fader knob .

So , as I'm attempting an original restauration , I need to find me such a knob .
Partnumber might help to .

What would you like to know? The hole is indeed for a fader knob for the factory stereo. Interestingly the I suspect the fade function was handled within the switch apparatus versus the head unit. If you see one of these, I have one in my car, the unit is about the size of a "c" cell battery and it all sits on the knob post that fits through the dash panel. My guess is that it hit the dust bin years ago when someone replaced the original head unit.
