Cody, I'll grant you that. However (and please feel free to correct me) --
on my Audi V8's, the original high flow fuel injection pump (in tank high
flow Bosch unit used in the earlier CIS cars) was replaced with a
smaller/lower pressure unit because the EFI requirements are such that the
pressure requirements are less. The V8 pressure regulator is fixed at 3
bar, no? Fuel is metered according to injection duration as well. Please
feel free to correct me on this.

PS, remember that fuel pressure increases directly proportionally with
boost. 40psi base pressure at 2bar boost is 68psi of fuel pressure. You
still need a relatively high pressure pump for some head room.
