[urq] 034 MS firewall brace/bracket installation

OK - I was finally able to get it to fit correctly.  The car was fine - no deviation and
actually quite solid.    

The brace was probably in spec. but did not take into count some things (below) that
would typically be an issue on installation.  I think several others had the problem.

1. The master cylinder on some cars is larger diameter.  The fix was to shave a little
off the opening that allows the brace to slip over the MS.  No biggie and was not the
major issue.

2. The weld bead on the steering rack can interfere with the brace laying flush with the
rack flange.  The weld kept the flange from seating.  The solution was to grind out the
area in the brace that interfered.  Once I did that, it fit fine.

Job nearly complete - just need to hook up the fluid line and pedal link.  In theory, I
should not have had to undo the clutch pedal link to the MS.  Apparently there was
supposed to be some instructions that I did not get, although I don't think they would
have warned me about the clearance issue.

Me too, I installed a new bracket that James Pasqualoni sold me. I think it was a
pre-034 unit. It went on smoothly, with the engine in place on a running car. My
firewall was not cracked (1983) at all, a surprise since the clutch pedal was so hard to
depress before the clutch R&R in 2002.

I had gotten 2 of the original run units from Jeff.
The first went into my first URQ with everything lining up nats.
The second went into the URQ I have now and required much modification because the
firewall was cracked, bent and some previous welding had been attempted to fix it. Which
it didn't. Major wrestling match but got it in and it locked the bent parts solid in
their current positions.
My guess is that many of the fit issues are from the firewall already flexing but not
visibly cracked.
I was very impressed by the quality of the braces.

Have no idea regarding the 034 piece.  I bought the original one (maybe even
he last one) from Jeff Lewis and it went (uninstalled) with the car back to
ob Dupree, who as I recall, subsequently installed it without any issues.

 that these cars were all custom one off's and that it was very difficult to
 make one piece fit all. This argument has its merits, but the design of the
 bracket could have been altered sice then, as I was told it would be.
 However that doesnt excuse the MC holes being misplaced, as those ARE
 massed
 produced to relatively strict tolerances.

 Once I dealt with it and installed, there was an improvement.
