[urq] Sway bar hardware

or if you're like me with an 84, you might have something in between. It's not
the cq setup OR the 4k setup. When I did mine, 034 claimed to have the right
setup and it ended up being the cq which did not work. I still had some bushings
left over from an 86 4kcsq and they don't match either. Mine are flat on one
side and the holder slips into a notch on the subframe on one side and bolt on
the other. I ended up grinding the 034 pair down. Really wanted to try the poly
setup everyone likes but didn't want to take the chance they'd be wrong.

I also learned another interesting tid-bit about the 84's at this years Sfest.
Someone pointed out to me that my car has a sort of spacer in the rear wheel
well that repositions the rear valance/bumper cover outward which makes it look
like the 85 and up cars. Hmmm. Anyone else ?

cheers,

tom.

853 411 335 is for the early cars with the bar attached to the lower a-arms
with a clamp and a green busching. Same part as any early coupe. You can
also create one easily with flat stock metal and a press.

857 411 335B is for cars with the new style swaybar (1985 and up), same as
any small-body Audi from 1984 to 1996. It's even installed on the Cabrio up
to 2000.

Now, as for supply, any junkyard could help you. But I doubt there is a
non-OEM supplier for these, so I guess it will be a dealer item for you.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I want to put my front sway bar back on the UrQ but dont have the
mounting hardware. I have new bushings etc and the bar, as well as the
vertical end links. But I dont have the clamps for the center bushings.
Anyone know where to get those?
thanks!
bob
